Ellen sings in the ensemble with the Opéra royal de Versailles.
From Festival Napa Valley: The Versailles Royal Opera makes its North American debut in this spectacular evening featuring Donizetti’s La Fille du régiment. This perennially popular opera follows the irrepressible Marie — a spirited orphan raised by a regiment of French soldiers. She falls for the dashing Tonio, only to face a whirlwind of obstacles, from war and aristocratic expectations to an unexpected twist of fate. With Marie’s dazzling coloratura passages and Tonio’s famous aria featuring nine thrilling high Cs, the production bursts with humor, romance, and vocal fireworks. Stunning costumes by renowned fashion designer Christian Lacroix make this Jean-Romain Vesperini directed production a show not to be missed.
Ellen sings the iconic soprano lines in three of Ennio Morricone’s film scores.
From Festival Napa Valley: Experience the enchantment of La Dolce Vita at this evening dedicated to the music of one of the world’s greatest film composers, the late Academy Award-winning Ennio Morricone. The celebration begins at Charles Krug, where the Festival pays tribute to Morricone’s extraordinary legacy in film music. The symphonic concert will be brought to life by visuals on the Festival’s state-of-the-art LED wall, with a special appearance by Monica Mancini. Known for iconic scores such as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Cinema Paradiso, and Once Upon a Time in America, Morricone was a master of his craft, effortlessly interweaving contrasting styles to create some of the most sublime music of our time.
